Who's Behind Swing Angry?
Swing Angry is led by Brandon Matthews, a coach with more than 20 years of experience developing baseball and softball athletes. From youth baseball to collegiate competition, Brandon has built championship-winning teams, coached some of the top offenses in multiple leagues, and helped hundreds of athletes improve their performance through a modern, data-driven approach to player development.
Throughout his coaching career, Brandon has worked with athletes ranging from youth players to NCAA baseball and softball athletes, collegiate summer standouts, professional players, and some of the top high school prospects in the country. While every athlete has different goals, the principles of elite development remain the same. Every Swing Angry athlete benefits from the same evidence-based training methods, objective feedback, and individualized development process used with high-level competitors.

Brandon Matthews
Brandon Matthews is the owner and lead hitting instructor at Swing Angry in Ahoskie, North Carolina. A former baseball player, Brandon has spent nearly 20 years coaching, teaching, and helping athletes develop.
After years of giving traditional lessons, he recognized a recurring problem: athletes might improve during the hour, but many left without the structure needed to continue improving on their own. That realization moved Swing Angry away from disconnected lessons and toward a complete development model built around assessment, personalized programming, communication, video review, at-bat tracking, and measurable progress.
The goal is not to make every hitter look the same. The goal is to help each athlete understand what creates better contact, better decisions, and more consistent game performance—then build a plan that develops those skills.
Today, Brandon works with baseball and softball athletes from youth through college, both inside the Swing Angry facility and remotely across the country.
